Supporting the work of Regeneración in 2022
Each year I donate a portion of my proceeds to an environmentally minded organization, as another way of helping to further environmental conservation. The health of the environment and the health of humans are inextricably linked. Environmental pollution causes human health issues (such as air pollution causing increased rates of asthma, or water pollution ruining drinking water supplies), and unfortunately the effects of this pollution and the effects climate change disproportionately impact at-risk groups, including minority communities and low income communities. These are often the people who contribute the least to environmental degradation, yet who suffer the consequences the most.
That is why this year I will be donating funds to Regeneración. Regeneración understands the link between social justice and environmental issues. By helping local communities adapt in the face of climate change, they are working to achieve climate justice so that "all people in the Pajaro Valley can live in harmony with the natural world." "Regeneración works with community partners to inspire everyone in the Pajaro Valley to respond locally to the global challenge of a changing climate. We co-create relevant and relatable climate solutions with the people most at risk from climate impacts."
