A B O U T M E

My name is Emily Rose Pomeroy, and I am an environmental conservationist, activist, and aspiring conservation photographer.
I have always had an affinity for nature and the outdoors. Growing up in the Catskill mountains in New York, I spent a lot of time outside which allowed me to develop a deep appreciation for the natural world. Throughout my life, spending time in nature was awe-inspiring, as well as incredibly healing both mentally and physically.
As I grew older, I came to find that I had a knack for science, and also a growing concern for the environment. Therefore, I pursued a degree at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, where I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Wildlife Science.
Since college, I have primarily focused my career in environmental education and outreach, helping to connect individuals to the natural world in a meaningful way, bring awareness of the major threats facing our planet, and empower others to take action. With the images I capture, I hope that I can share the beauty of the natural world and inspire others to help care for it. Many of my photos are captioned with information about each subject, to allow those who view my work to also learn about the natural world.
We are not separate from nature. We are of and we are from nature. I believe that the health of the environment and the health of humans are directly related, and that we cannot improve one while neglecting the other. This is why it is imperative that we learn how to protect the health of our people and our planet, so that we, our children, and our children's children, may have a healthy and happy place to live.
Thank you for supporting my work and for taking the time to visit my site. People like you are going to help improve this world for future generations!

MY COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY
As an environmentalist, I try to be as sustainable as possible in all aspects of my life, including in my business. Living sustainably to me means using only what I need, limiting the amount of waste that I create (especially plastic!), and trying to have the smallest impact on this planet that I possibly can. To find out more about how you can live sustainably in your everyday life, click here.
Here are the ways that I try to keep my business sustainable:
- All greeting cards are printed on 100% recycled paper to limit the number of trees needed to be cut down for paper products.
- Prints, canvases, and mounted prints are all purchased from a local print shop to reduce carbon emissions used in shipping products.
- Frames used are purchased from thrift stores. Reusing items keeps material out of the landfill, uses less energy, and saves resources that would need to be extracted to create new products.
